Popular Pets for Kids

Kids love pets and pets love kids even more. The most popular choices for pets today are still dogs and cats but many people select more unique animals to share their homes and lives. There are many different animals that can make great pets. Some people choose fish, snakes, turtles, or birds as their ideal pet.

Other pet choices include iguanas (above), monitor lizards, tarantulas, toads, rats, mice and hamsters. There are even some people who take a fancy to such delightful pets as a Madagascar Hissing Cockroach or a de-scented skunk. If you have one of these animals in your household they need to be checked by a veterinarian who specializes in exotic pet care.
