Cartoon Characters
We all have our favourite classic cartoon characters, from Homer Simpson to Peter Pan and from Tinkerbelle to Winnie the Pooh. Why you do like them? Is it because they make us laugh? Or is it because they can do stuff that we can’t?
Spiderman can walk up walls! Superman can fly! Scooby-doo gets to chase ghost (even if he is not very good at it!) Robotboy can change to Superactivated mode! Look at how much trouble Bart Simpson gets in without even trying; if that was us, we’d be grounded for life!
There are always going to be new characters popping up to entertain us, do you know the cartoons such as Ben:10 Alien Force, Dexter's Laboratory and The Powerpuff Girls? These can be classed as new cartoons, well, they’re not as old as Mickey Mouse.
The first Mickey Mouse cartoon was "Steamboat Willie," which was shown in 1928, long before you were born, maybe ask you grandparents if they remember watching it. Mickey Mouse looks good for a rodent over 80 years old!
We all know the Simpson family; they were first introduced to us in 1988. That means that Bart has been 10 years old for just over 20 years, (he’s like Peter Pan the boy who never grew up!)
Cartoons aren’t just programmes on TV they’re also films Disney being the most popular cartoon producer. The first Disney film was Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs released in December 1937, and Disney has been growing in popularity ever since, they’ve even changed how cartoons look.
Snow White and her Disney Princesses Jasmine, Aurora & Belle to name a few where all made using the 2D effect this took a very long time to produce, however now there’s Pixar who’ve made; Wall-E, Ratatouille and Lightening McQueen who look more lively and fun.
