  • On average a four year old asks 437 questions a day (many of them just a simply..."why"!).

  • It is impossible for most people to lick their own elbow (go on, try it ... if you can you're quite unusual!).

  • Jack is the most common name in children's nursery rhymes.

  • The average lead pencil can draw a line almost 35 miles in length!
  • Russia has more cinemas than any other country in the world.

  • To see a rainbow you have to have your back to the sun.

  • The names of the world's continents all end with the same letter with which they start.

  • A zebra is white with black stripes, not black with white stripes.

  • The average person can live for 11 days without water. 

  • Coca-Cola was originally green.

  • Pigs can get sunburn.

  • Footprints left by astronauts on the moon will last over 10 million years (as there is no atmosphere).

  • Venus is the only planet in our Solar System that rotates clockwise.

  • Ants do not sleep.

  • It's impossible to fold any normal piece of paper more than 7 times (try it!).  

  • The lion costume in the film The Wizard of Oz was actually made out of real lion skin.
  • Fathers usually determine the height to their child, and mothers the weight.
  • The Mona Lisa used to hang on the wall in Napoleon’s bedroom.
  • "Barbie Millicent Roberts" is Barbie's full name.
  • The Himalayas cover one-tenth of the Earth's surface.
  • The Mona Lisa has no eyebrows. It was the fashion in Italy at that time for women to shave them off.

  • The total combined weight of all of the ants in the world is more than that of all of the humans!

  • The largest single living thing on the face of the Earth lives in Oregon, USA and measures three and a half miles in diameter (............. it's an underground mushroom!).

  • A woodpecker can peck twenty times a second.
