Superstitions and Old Wives’ Tales

Old wives' tales and superstitions are ‘tales’ passed down by old wives to a younger generation; word of mouth was used long before pen, books, and the Internet. They usually consist of superstition and folklore with blown up or untrue details. Old wives' tales often concern pregnancy, health and good luck where as superstition is a belief or notion, not based on reason or knowledge. There are a lot of Old Wives’ Tale and Superstitions’ around that we all know about...

Carrots improve your vision

If you step on a crack in the pavement you’ll break you back.
If you cross your eyes and a wind blow, they'll stay that way.

If you think those are strange you haven’t heard anything yet, there are really old ones that when we think about now, seems so silly and that if we were to believe in them all we would never step outside the house (some would not have use leave our beds, you have to get out on the right side or you’ll have bad luck.)
