Tasty Treats Kids Can Make in Minutes

You are never too young to become a great chef!  Your family will be very surprised to see the many different goodies that you can create. A chef does not have to cook food, but he has to know how to create delicious treats that look as good as they taste. Remember, your mum and dad, or another adult must be in charge of any baking you want to do and should be the ones who handle the hot trays!

Tastiest Trail Mix on the Planet Earth

This is the tastiest of all trail mixes because you get to create your own just the way you like it. Start with the basic recipe and change it each time to make a different tasting snack that you will love to eat.

Ingredients:

Box of cereal that comes in circles or squares
Golden raisins
Sunflower seeds
Pecan pieces
Flaked coconut
Dried bananas
Dried pineapple
Pretzels
Yogurt flavoured raisins

Directions:

Start with 3 cups of cereal in a gallon size plastic bag

Add 1 cup of raisins

Add ¼ cup of any of the other ingredients, as many different ones as you like

Shake the bag to mix everything up

Now you can have trail mix any time you want to eat it and the plastic bag will keep it fresh.

Hot Banana Dogs

This is a great snack for anytime of the day and it’s healthy and super easy to fix.

Ingredients:

Whole wheat hot dog buns….see how healthy this is
Jelly and Peanut Butter
Bananas

Sunflower seeds….another healthy touch, but you do not have to use these.

Directions:

(If an adult is available to help, they can toast the buns very lightly in a small oven)
You can just use the buns right out of the plastic bag without toasting.

Spread peanut butter inside the bun and sprinkle with sunflower seeds if you want them.

Peel a banana and place it inside the bun, or use a plastic knife to slice the banana in half length wise.

Add some jelly on top just as you would do with ketchup or mustard on a real hot dog.

Now eat and enjoy.

Wizard Wands

These wands might not produce a magic spell, but they will taste like magic when you eat them.

There are 2 ways to fix this neat treat:

Ingredients:

Pretzel sticks- 1 bag

Chocolate or vanilla baking chips

Candy sprinkles, crushed nuts, coloured sugars

Directions:

Let an adult melt the chips for you and they can help you dip half of each pretzel stick into the warm, melted candy.

Next roll the coated pretzel in your choice of sugar, sprinkles or nuts….or all 3 if you choose and ABRACADABRA…..

Version 2

Directions:

Instead of melting chips use a canned frosting and you can use a plastic knife to spread frosting onto the pretzels and then roll them in the sugar, sprinkles or nuts.

* Remember to only coat ½ the pretzel or things could get very messy…..Very Delicious…..But Very Messy.
