Bath games

Bath time can be a fun filled adventure and you can use your imagination to set sail on an ocean voyage using just a toy boat. Have you ever used your hands to create small waves? You can do this and then call out for the crew to abandon ship as the boat begins to tip over. This is a wonderful and exciting way to get all fresh and clean for bed or school.

There are products that your parents can purchase to help make bath time a happy time. Some containers for kids have foamy soap that is easy to squirt out.

You can shape the foam into castles, dragons, or tall mountains.

Make an island that floats in the middle of your bath water and add a few plastic men or rubber animals and you will have a city.

Perhaps some of the crayon soaps are what you need to put you in the mood for a proper “washing up”. These can draw colourful lines and designs on the bathtub surface, or on your arms and legs. It’s only soap, so even though the colours are bright and cheery, they will wash right off and leave you and the bath or shower perfectly clean.

A diving mask, swimsuit, and a snorkel can be used for extra bath time fun. Almost everyone enjoys swimming and you can put on this deep-sea diving equipment even if you never duck your head in the water once.

The most fun is when you use your brain and imagination to create an amazing ocean adventure that takes place right in your warm, safe bathtub.

Use your rubber ducks to capture and flip over enemy ships. Imagine that you see the sailors jumping overboard and swimming fast to escape these large, yellow creatures.

You can even have sliding, jumping, and diving contests where each duck competes against the others.

Gather 3 or more small floating toys at the back of the tub and try to guess which one will reach the other end first when you set them free.

Parent Friendly Advice

Bath bubbles can be fun but these should be purchased only if they are very mild and made for young children. Do not use any adult bath oils, salts, or bubbles in a bath that is supposed to be child friendly. Children have a very powerful sense of smell so always make sure that the fragrances are gentle and pleasant. Let your kid’s help you select the bath products that they would like to use. They will enjoy the shopping experience and you will end up with fun bath items that they want to play with.

For most children bubble baths are great play times. When the top of the water is covered with gentle bubbles, just drop in some small plastic toys and then let your children use their hands and feet to find this sunken treasure. There are some small weighted toys designed for swimming fun that can be used. Some of these look like coins and come in different colours.
